The Ultimate Guide to Swap Your Beautycounter Products

In my 8 years as a Beautycounter consultant and my 15 years as a Bridal Hair and Makeup Artist, I’ve come to consider myself a bit of a product expert ✨

I know what works for different skin types, how to test products to ensure they last through all the sweat, tears, and smile lines of a day, and how to color match any shade of skin.

On top of that, I’m a stickler for clean ingredients for myself and my family. (More on that here.

So everything I share has been through the double whammy test of being super high performance and as clean as possible. For a long time, Beautycounter was providing most of those products for me, and since the end of the BC Era, I’ve been face-first in researching new products with that high level of performance and super clean ingredients.

If you were using Beautycounter, I know you’ve been searching too which is why I am SO EXCITED to share what I’ve found 🎉

For many of these swaps, they’re not just replacements for Beautycounter products, they’re even better. Okay, let’s dive in:

Skin Prep and Foundation

The foundation of your makeup is essential to how the rest builds into your look and for the wear throughout the day. Here’s my favorites for how I start my full face:

Beautycounter Glow Primer → Crunchi Smart Start Primer

Note: Skincare is the ultimate building block for a flawless face and I will be sharing more about that in a full skincare blog, however in the meantime if your skin is not properly prepped and hydrated it will affect the outcome of your makeup application.

Beautycounter Dew Skin → Crunchi Tinted Sunscreen

This is one where the swap is actually better!! The Crunchi Tinted Sunscreen is my latest obsession. It goes on so easily with my fingers and gives a little more coverage than the Dewskin did. See a side by side of these two here.

Beautycounter Twinskin Foundation → Crunchi Beautifully Flawless Foundation

Note: I was using shade 340 in twinskin foundation and use 2.5 with Crunchi. My winter shade was 320 in twinskin and is 2.0 with Crunchi.

Beautycounter Twin Skin Concealer → Crunchi My Alibi Concealer

Note: I was using ‘light’ in the twinskin and use ‘L15’ with Crunchi.

Cheeks & Highlight

Saie Dew Bronzer Soft-Focus Effortless Liquid Bronzer

Beautycounter introduced me to the beauty of cream products and while they never publicly offered a cream bronzer, I knew a cream formula would help me achieve the dewy finish I love.

Beautycounter Havana Cream Blush → Crunchi Cheekmate Liquid Blush in Guava

The Crunchi blush in Guava is a really close dupe to the Havana color!

Pomegranate | Spiced Mango

Crunchi Luminescent Highlighter

Beautycounter offered a cream highlighter that was best applied with fingertips. I have been enjoying this Crunchi powder-formula highlighter best applied with a brush for more of a luminous finish.

Eyes and Brows

Beautycounter Eyebrow Pencil → Ecobrow Defining Crayon

Beautycounter Brow Gel → Kosas Air Brow Tinted Gel

Thrive Cosmetics Mascara

It’s no secret I wasn’t a fan of the Beautycounter mascara and Crunchi’s didn’t blow me away either. Thrive Cosmetics has been my go-to mascara for seriously as long as I can remember and it’s still outperforming everything I ever try.

Velvet Eyeshadow Palette in Classic Beautycounter → Crunchi Shadow Bar Enchanted Neutrals

I am always drawn to the warm-toned-earthy eyeshadow pallets. These colors are complimentary to every eye color and remain timeless against all the shadow trends that come and go. Bonus: the dark Mahogany can double as an eyeliner both on the top lid and lower lash line (also known as a drop shadow).

Crunchi Highliner Pencil Eyeliner

I use the black and brown shades for this. If you want help selecting your color, email me at hello@emilyreneebarton.com

Brushes

What you use to apply your makeup is just as important as the makeup you’re using! These three brushes provide everything you need to do a full face.

Crunchi Flat Top No. 1 Brush

This brush is honestly the best foundation brush I’ve ever used!! I’m completely obsessed.

Patrick Ta Precision Dual Ended Sculpting Brush

This brush can be used on the angled side for your contour bronzer and the fluffy, fuller side for blush.

Major Sculpt Dual-Ended Precision Brush

Use the flat side on this brush for your nose contour and the rounder side for your highlight or eye shadow. You know I love two for the price of one!

These products are my go-to whether I’m going for a lighter face with just the Crunchi Tinted Sunscreen or a full face with everything from start to finish on this list. My makeup lasts all day (yes, even through mom life), it feels good, and has ingredients I feel safe putting on my body.

If you need help color matching on any of these or want a customized order, email hello@emilyreneebarton.com and I’d love to help you!!!

Xoxo,

Emily
