I had it on my content calendar to write about hacks I’m learning as a mom of 3. But let’s be real here: I’m still figuring it out. I don’t have a few practical tips you can add to your day, but I can share what I am learning to do: pause and listen to myself.
The first month of Tripp’s life was amazing and also NOT real life. Jonny was home, we had meals brought to us, and lots of family around. Sure, I still went grocery shopping (does instacart count?) and took Jax to school, but I was surrounded by support.
Now we’re back to real life, where Jonny leaves for days at a time, and it’s up to me to organize our time, schedule the help, and figure out how to run on my business.
We’re slowly figuring out how to weave in things like workouts and other forms of self-care. Yes, a 30 minute workout may take me two hours, but I’m still going to try.
I’ve also got some business dreams I’m trying to sort out. I love a good work hustle (always have), and I love having a space that is mine outside of my role as a mom.
But like with every life change, I’m trying to sift through what my dreams are for my business and what type of mom I want to be. Those aren’t mutually exclusive, but I need to figure out what I want that to look like for me and our family.
How do I figure that out? I need to listen to myself. I need to find space to get quiet, pray, and listen to what this new season as a mom and business owner look like. I’ve got big goals for both– and that isn’t gonna change! But what does it look like on a day-to-day? That’s what I’m figuring out right now.
Whether you just had a new baby or have a new job change or some other significant life event, I hope you can create space to do that. Nobody knows your life, your family, and your business like you do. Sometimes we just need to quiet the noise to figure that out.
Hire the sitter, girl. You’re worth it.
